By the name itself, we could say it is an artificial intelligence created by humans to automate certain tasks associated with human intelligence (such as reasoning, capacity in terms of memory, speed, and knowledge of various technologies – we could coin it as omniscience).
We might think this might make humans lazy. However, take a different perspective and consider what positive advancements could this bring.
- More tasks can be automated using algorithms. This saves us energy, time, and money.
- It is capable of creating an image using text prompts, games, videos, and more. It is important to note that it is capable of conversing and performing tasks we instruct.
When was this invented and by whom?
While Alan Turing had the famous test named after him, John McCarthy is usually acknowledged as the person who invented AI in 1956.
How does the AI work?
AI uses algorithms, data, and computational power to simulate human intelligence.
We essentially input data and observe how it processes it. We modify the input depending on the outcome, whether it’s the desired result or requires some adjustments. Continuous improvement is achieved through analysis and case studies.
Types of AI
There are seven types of AI designed to categorize the tasks that AI can perform.
Do you think AI can become human?
No, it never can.
As it cannot deal with human emotions, moral/ethical decision-making, heartfelt personal touch that only humans can.
Overall, AI can assist in many ways, but it needs humans to improve or develop themselves in terms of advancements.
